Dev Pathrajani is a 17 year old college student who lives, eats and breathes physics; he knows everything there is to know about dark matter. Molly Gardner is a young woman who hears voices and they are definitely not in her head and Zack Davison is a loner in Newcastle who dropped out of school and no-one knows why. Three different people, three different lives and one connecting force.
When Dev accidentally stumbles across the realisation that dark matter in the universe is increasing due to trapped energy, he embarks on a quest to find out where this energy is coming from. On the way he works out that this trapped energy will affect the earth’s gravitational pull, spinning it away from the sun and is faced with a terrible, isolated truth; the earth is dying and there is no way to save it. But is there?
As Dev begins to unravel a complex web of connections and an intricate system of physics and belief, he finds unlikely partners in a school dropout and a young girl with psychic powers. There is one way out, but will he find it in time to save the earth from its nihilistic destruction?
